D-Pro with Solar Capture Sweeden

Hi Guys,

I've been using DMXIS, Show Buddy and more recently D-Pro to plan school productions. As a teacher however I have little time during the day and programming lighting often means hanging back at school late into the night. Can anyone tell me what hardware I need to be able to send D-Pro show information to Capture Sweeden?... or is there a way to do this without hardware? Thanking you in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers Pedro

You don't need any additional hardware.

Configure D-Pro to transmit using Art-Net (File > Preferences > DMX Ouptuts). Then configure Capture to receive from the same Art-Net universe. You can now run Capture on the same computer as D-Pro (assuming it's fast enough to run both D-Pro and Capture) or on any other computer on your network.

Pedro,

DMXIS and Show Buddy--send the DMX512 out the DMXIS hardware and get something like the DMX USB PRO (either the classic model or the Mk2) to be the hardware Capture reads, allowing the signal to come in to that computer.

D-PRO: same thing would work, or you can employ the Art-Net protocol to bypass hardware and send the signal over a LAN. (Same computer is possible too, by looping it back.)

No, that's the one and only limitation of the trial version - it does not output DMX data to Enttec hardware devices or Art-Net.

I don't quite follow here.
I have DPro and a Pro Mk2 and Capture 2020 trial.
I can get DPro to work with Capture across ArtNet, but if I switch to DMX, DPro fails to see the interface when I launch Capture.
I need to run DMX and see it come up in Capture.
Is this a limitation of the demo software, or am I doing something wrong?

Limitation of the trial version apparently.
