Basic question about MIDI control

As far as I can tell, it seems like I can only use midi to trigger up and down between presets and banks. Out of curiosity, am I able to use midi to trigger specific presets that are placed far away from each other instead of having to add multiples of the same presets and bank up and down between them?

You can load any bank or preset by sending MIDI Notes on MIDI channels 15/16. You can also trigger the button panel at the bottom of the Perform tab with notes on channel 1.

You can customise this MIDI behaviour from the Preferences window.
