I am going to buy the ENTTEC DMXIS 512-Ch USB DMX Interface and based on the demo, it already comes with a software to control your lights with your songs. Do I still need to get Show Buddy, is there a big difference in functionality?

Do you need Show Buddy?
Re: Do you need Show Buddy?
It's not necessary, but does also depend on what you're looking to do. Show Buddy Setlist is Entec's software to sync lighting cues to a backing track, or click track. You can do this without SBS, and use the vst plugin you get with DMXIS in a DAW, like Ableton Live, or any other, but you do lose some resolution to the fixtures. Whereas with SBS there is no loss, plus some other added features, like drag and drop cues, definable fades for each cue, momentary presets, etc...
And if you don't plan to sync your light cues, you can just use a simple footswitch to change cues, with just DMXIS. Like I originally said, to answer your question the best, would require knowing your intended use of DMXIS.
