Show Buddy Active 2.1.3 beta available

Post by Dave Brown [admin] »

Show Buddy Active 2.1.3 Beta is available upon request. Please email me at dave@db-audioware.com for download details. Compatible with all versions of Windows and macOS (including macOS Monterey and Apple M1 processors)

What's new in this release?
  • Added 3D rendering of moving head & scanner beams. (Experimental feature, activated in Preferences)
  • Easy import of DMXIS show data (via File > Import DMXIS Data...)
  • Fixed AU & VST plugin crash on macOS
  • Supports any Enttec USB PRO compatible USB-DMX box (including the ENTTEC DMXIS, DMX USB PRO, and DMX USB PRO Mk2)
  • Crossfading between presets is now smooth.
  • Fix random sorting of macro & fixture popup menus (on macOS).
  • Added visualiser refresh rate to Preferences.
  • Check for invalid bank & preset names.
  • Bugfix - MIDI buttons were not working on Windows.
  • Fixed redraw & selection problems with channel sliders.
  • Fixed bug with oscillator/tracker controls when multiple DMX channels selected
  • Single installer now serves as both demo and retail product.
  • Removed DMXIS footswitch functionality.
  • Current preset can be reloaded, retriggering the oscillators. This lets you correct for drift in Show Buddy Setlist by reloading the current preset multiple times.
  • Various other bug fixes.
Here's a wee preview of the 3D beams.

I'm going to put together a short tutorial video explaining how to configure the 3D beams, but in the meantime here is an extract from the manual...

Note: To turn on the 3D Beams, go to File|Preferences|General, Scroll down to the Visualiser section, Make sure 3D beams (experimental) is Enabled.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me feedback on the beta so far. I've added one new feature for 2.1.4 - bank & preset changes and tap tempo driven from the computer keyboard.

This let you use PC USB foot pedals (which are just simple keyboards) for basic stage control, instead of a full MIDI footswitch. It's also handy for browsing presets from the SBA Controls tab.
