Modifying macros.

Post by joel77 »

Hi all.

First off, I know nothing about Python or coding in general, so keep that in mind.

I'm using DMXIS 1.6.9.

I've downloaded macros from here and want to try using them, but thought I'd first try my hand at modifying the color macros that Dave included with DMXIS. Because all my PAR lights are at least RGBA, and Dave's color macros are RGB, I've customized some color presets to take advantage of the extra colors on my PARs. Yesterday I thought I'd try modifying some color macros, so I don't have to manually enter the colors every time I want to use them.

I followed Dave's instructions, but when I try to save the modified macro, I'm told I don't have Administrative privileges to do that. I am, in fact, logged in as Administrator of the laptop running DMXIS, so I have no idea what that's about.

Anyone?

What application are you using the edit the files? Notepad, or something else?

You may need to run that application as administrator.
For example, you can right click the application in the start menu and choose run as admin
Here's an example:

Once you have done that, can you save the files ?
