Trigger script from midi?

Hey,
Is it possible to trigger a script from a midi event, or externally from another app on the host pc ?

A little late with this answer. Hopefully you've discovered this by now.
No, scripts can not be triggered via MIDI.
DMXIS Python scripts do not run in real time.

Wow I had no idea it's been 4 years since I started with dmxis!
After Dave told me I can't do things like sleep in the dmxis python, I decided to move all my logic outside the application, and just trigger the presets via midi.

Are you triggering the preset by stepping up and down through using midi up and down commands, or is there a way to trigger specific preset directly with a midi keystroke, for example from an AkaiMIni Keyboard?
