DMXIS / Chauvet 4bar

Post by TallPaul1 »

I have 4 of the Chauvet 4bar usb.
Is it possible to address them individually in order to program different light presets individually? If so how? Please help

Example: 2 of the fixtures are on either side of the stage working identically and 2 other of the fixtures positioned behind the band working identically but different light presets then the the two on with side of the stage.

Note: they are all daisy chained.

just set them to different DMX starting addresses. (offset by how ever many channels your need to control each fixture independently).

You can.

Here's how:
(Windows instructions, you're on your own if you're a MacPerson)

Open Windows Explorer and go to where you store your light profiles
Find the one for your 4Bar
Let' assume your profile file name is: 4Bar.dmx

Select (just select, don't open) the profile
Right click
Copy
Paste
It will paste a new profile named 4Bar - Copy
Rename it.
I have 6 4Bars, 2 in front, and 4 across back.

I named one profile
4BarFront.dmx
and the other profile
4BarRear.dmx
(You could have 10 if you want)

Then open DMXIS, and select the correct profiles by
(for this example, the fixture starts on DMX address 33)
- Go to fader 33 and click to select (single click)
- then, Right click
- Fixture Library
(navigate to the library and select 4BarRear.dmx

That's it.

Do the same for your front lights, and any other groups you set up. One profile name per group

Now when you , say double click on pod 1 red of the rear 4Bar, all the reds for the rear 4bars will be selected, but the Front 4Bar fixtures will not be selected at all.

It makes programming a LOT easier.

If this doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll re-word it!
