On/Off delay inconsistencies

Love this thing, but I’m having a timing issue.
My system: Cubase > DMXis > LED pars > ADJ 24 channel switch pack

Everything connected works fine, but the lights plugged into the ADJ switch has some inconsistencies. Song running at 93 bpm. What’s the fastest note that DMXis can handle? I am making a Halloween display making a pumpkin blink to a vocal. Pumpkin is a 5w incandescent into the ADJ switch. It is triggering the on off, but when I get to a 32nd note at 93 bpm it kind of misses a few hits. Anything I can do to improve it?

The DMX protocol cannot respond to events that quickly. Its not designed for that kind of instantaneous feedback.

Unless my math is wrong, a 32nd note at 93 beats per minute is (60secs / 93) / 32 = approx 20ms

60 sec / 93 = .64 seconds

.64 seconds / 32 = .02 seconds (or 20ms)

Best as I can tell from searching the internet, max DMX refresh rate is 44hz, but many physical devices run at around half that rate.

So your likely to see timing issues with anything faster than 25-30hz (or about 30-35ms)

Theoretical maximum is 0.02272727 seconds (23ms)

That fully explains it. Thank You. Disappointing but understandable. I am playing with some programming for Halloween and was trying to get a pumpkin to blink to lyrics. Apparently I have to get a little more creative.
