Attempting to create chases

Hello! Two weeks in on DMXIS and two gigs down, now its time to create some custom sound-activated chases.

Please tell me if I'm going about this all wrong..

I have set up multiple banks for different effects. I have sone set up with only one preset in them (static colors) and some with multiple presets set to autorun (chases). Please keep in mind these will all be controlled spontaneously on stage with a controller.

I'm having trouble getting the auto-run to lock into my tempo. Instead it follows the preset tempo.

Am I going about this entirely wrong? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
Rick

How are you setting your tempo from the controller?

I'm hoping to use the sound activation only. Possible?

The Sound Tracker lets you channel levels from the audio. DMXIS cannot extract a tempo from the audio.

However, you can use tap tempo (from a footswitch connected to the DMXIS box, or via MIDI CC 110 from your controller). Alternatively, you can control DMXIS tempo using MIDI clock messages.

Hi Dave, I'm only trying to get the sound activation working to bump through different presets creating a custom chase. I'm not using any audio files.

If this is not possible, is there another way to create custom sound-activated chases?

Thanks!
