Automate light show

Post by mediaguy »

Please bear with me as I am very new to all of this.

I got myself jammed up and am trying to salvage some shows. I just purchased some lights and DMXIS. Spent the weekend playing around with the software and seems like I am able to get changes with the Sound Tracker.

I need to get this working for this weekend. I am not using backing tracks or a click track. What is the easiest best way to get a decent light show without it looking like a shit show????

To use the sound tracker, do I somehow have to get the PC connected to the sound board? And if so, how do I do that? And CAN I do that if the bass and drums are not going through the PA?

Is it easier to use a footswitch? And if so what is the best way to go about that?
Any input would be appreciated!
