How to cycle through presets with one midi button???

Post by swingrays »

Say I create a group of presets, maybe 10 or 20, and all I wanna do is cycle though them at key points in songs. I’d be using an Alesis hi hat controller to activate the midi function from my drum kit. I might have another trigger for blackout. Anywho, is this possible with just the DMXIS software, the DMXIS box and a laptop with an old Roland drum Module?

Thanks guys!!!!

I would just use a midi assignment for your triggers.
Set up your roland to send a midi note on a couple of pads/triggers and just use them to change presets.
You can assign it in Dmxis to scroll through presets one by one forward or back.
Just look in the menus at the top right of your Dmxis program.
Dont forget you need a midi in/out from your roland to the laptop also so Dmxis can see it as a controller.

What menus on the top right?

Right-click on the next/previous arrows above the preset list, select "Learn", and press a button on your MIDI controller.
