I have now successfully mapped 160 Ableton Live CCs to 160 DMXIS channels. I did this on my desktop computer.
Will I have to do it again when I transfer my Live set to my laptop?

As long as you copy all your DMXIS data to the new computer as described in this article, all your CC assignments will continue to work.

Hmmm... I can't even spell XML! 
It was all done directly in Ableton Live.

The file you are updating is in C:\Users\Public\Documents\ENTTEC\DMXIS\Presets\DmxConfig.xml
If you open it in notepad it should show your midi mappings.
