Deleting Dmxis
I can’t seem to delete all off Dmxis from my computer.
I can not get the midi forget to work. So I’ve tried to completely delete Dmxis and reload. All my banks/ presets are gone. Changed my preferences midi channels to 14. Listen on channel 14. Still remembers original preset 2.
I tried deleting everything entec erasing xml files.
Frustrated for days

Re: Deleting Dmxis
MIDI Learn information is stored in the "DmxConfig.xml" file of your DMXIS show. So, each show can have different MIDI assignments. For example, MIDI assignments for "My DMXIS Show" are stored in this file:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\ENTTEC\DMXIS\Shows\My DMXIS Show\DmxConfig.xml
There is a bug in the current DMXIS release. If you "Forget" a MIDI assignment, it does not save that to the DmxConfig.xml file automatically. There are a few workarounds....
Manually edit DmxConfig.xml
Open DmxConfig.xml in Notepad, and edit the relevant files. For example, change this:
to this:
Clear all MIDI Learn data
Selecting the "Clear MIDI assignments..." in the "Show" menu of the DMXIS standalone will successfully reset ALL of your Learn data.
Tweak the footswitch settings
This workaround is a little weird, but it works. After using "Forget" to clear the MIDI learn assignments, open the footswitch settings window and click "Save settings". This forces the DmxConfig.xml file to be saved.

Re: Deleting Dmxis
Please explain in detail exactly what the problem is, and the steps you take to reproduce that problem. I think perhaps you are experiencing a different issue.

Re: Deleting Dmxis
I start Dmxis. I go to set midi channel to Omni. Receive midi preset change to channel 2. I clear all midi assignments. I load a new show. I strike a electronic cymbal and send C1 on Channel 2. The event window says preset 2. I don’t have any preset even saved. I try forget all midi again. I make up 3 presets. I select #3. Strike cymbal again. It goes to preset 2.
I load a show that previously worked. I rReset the all the midi. I right click on the preset down button and midi learn. I strike cymbal. It learns but goes to preset 2. I can see it flicker in the event screen like it is trying to go down to 3. But goes to preset 2. It has worked correctly before. I don’t know what I did to break it. The XML doesn’t show any assignments if I’m reading it correctly. I’ve taken a movie of it but cant upload.

Re: Deleting Dmxis
Disable MIDI bank control and MIDI preset control in Preferences, and try again...
