Programming timeframe

Post by Matthew_Cannon »

General programming question. Given the average song lenth of 3 minutes how much time do you take to program your show for each song? I have several elements that make my shows programming cumbersome using Dmx & Klingnet LED fixtures with arkaos. I have 21 songs to write the programming for by Saturday at 3pm. Barring my day job today, half tomorrow and Friday (30 hours estimated) and sleep (20 hours estimated) with a total time of 97 hours between now and when I need to load up the truck.

47 hours 21 lightshows. Can it be done and look professional. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Auto is not an option for me sorry, I'm neurotic....

Hey, Matt.

I don't use Show Buddy but I was poking around, saw this and was curious. How much time did it end up taking you?

Hey Chris,

The video should be back from the show soon I'll be sure to post a clip. I was able to get all but 4 songs done out of the 45. Some were better than others but overall I was pretty happy with the results. The four that I didn't have done I just hit a static wash color to get through those.

Here's a few pics.

The R2s are looking good - can't wait to see the video!

Can you cross post it on the You Tube topic in the Dmxis forum so they can see it, too?
