The DMXIS software only works with the DMXIS hardware interface.

You could use Show Buddy Active instead of DMXIS for your lighting control. Show Buddy Active supports a wider range of hardware interfaces.

I am working on a patch to fix this.

Upon investigation, tempo was not being saved properly in the exported MIDI file.

I have fixed this in the new Show Buddy Setlist 1.8.1 beta, freely available here. You can now also modify the ppqn resolution of exported files from the Preferences window.

Show Buddy exports MIDI files at 960ppqn resolution, and with the tempo you set in the lightshow edit screen. If the host ppqn or tempo are not identical, the MIDI events won't line up correctly.

1.7.3 did not work properly with Show Buddy. A 1.7.4 release is in final testing at the moment.

No upgrade cost, everything will work as before.

But PLEASE remember to make a full backup of all your Show Buddy and DMXIS data before upgrading.

What version of Show Buddy are you running?

It could be that Ableton is shutting down processing of the VST when it sees silence at the plugin input. Some hosts do this to improve CPU load. This would cause random problems in DMXIS, as it requires an audio input stream for sync purposes. It most often happens when you patch DMXIS into a send/...

Rather than mp3s, try using an uncompressed format for your files like wav or aiff.

Show Buddy Setlist works fine on M1 Macs running the latest macOS releases.
