Re: Layering Cues

I assume from your message that you haven't tried out the Show Control window yet? You can layer unlimited cues & cuelists from Show Control - just drag each cue or cuelist onto a spare button/slider, then you can manually mix them as required.

Re: Show Buddy export light show to midi file feature URGENT

But this is too hard to impossible, to manually do this - especially for the whole show with lots of event changes masked presets e.t.c, and besides that, in combined midi file you can't tell which note is for preset, and which note is for bank..... Just use a MIDI utility (such as MidiKit for Mac ...

Re: Show Buddy export light show to midi file feature URGENT

Sorry, don't see an attached pic in your last post. However, my research suggests that Live handles MIDI routing in a weird way. It apparently merges data into a single channel when you route MIDI from a track into a VST/AU. This explains your false triggering - Ableton turns all Ch 15 events (bank ...

Re: Show Buddy export light show to midi file feature URGENT

If bank MIDI events are triggering presets, then Live must be remapping channel data on-the-fly. I guess it comes down to exactly how you are routing the channels in Live - is there an "All channels" option somewhere that could pass the MIDI data to DMXIS without messing with it? I haven't...

You haven't done anything wrong in the editor. Currently, the Device Browser can display colour for devices with discrete RGB, RGBAW or CMY channels. Devices with physical wheels always display as a solid white beam, regardless of the current colour or gobo wheel setting.

For instant changes, both "Double click" and "Click & hold" must be set to "No action".

If the change still happens on pedal release, then you probably have the wrong "Switch type" selected.

Thanks! The sort order only seems to maintain if I number each cue numerically and do a separate bank for ACT I and AC T II. Otherwise every time I shut down the computer, it looses its sort. It is a brand new computer with nothing else on it. I see this had been an issue in previous version too. T...

Re: Cues Mis-Sorting

Take a look at the DMXIS banks & presets as stored on your hard disk: http://www.dmxis.com/how-to-backup-dmxis-settings-shows/ You will see that each bank contains a "bank.xml" file. This contains the preset sort order, the cue fade times and the bank tempo. If you lost your preset ord...

Re: Hi Res Dimmers

Yes, in the fixture editor there are "Dim" and "Dim Fine" subcategories for a dimmer channel. D-Pro supports high-res dimmers directly, with 16-bit accuracy during all fades & FX. DMXIS / Show Buddy crossfades & oscillators remain 8-bit only, but a second "Dim Fine&q...

Re: Problems with fixture strobing during blackout

It's difficult to diagnose without seeing your show file. In your fixture definition, the Dimmer channel is correct, and the colour channels should be fine. You could perhaps try setting the category for channels 2/3/4 to "Control", in case the dual "Colour:White" channels are co...

Re: Kam laser

If you can locate the manual, you can easily create your own fixture file using the online fixture editor (http://fixtures.dmxis.com). Without a manual, you'll need to fiddle with the 9 DMXIS channel faders (I believe this is a 9-channel fixture) and try to deduce what each one does. Note: you don't...

Known Mavericks-specific issue, to be fixed in the first available release.

A simple workaround is to click on the number under any DMXIS fader to display the edit box, then hit Esc. This kicks the DMXIS window back into life.

Have you looked at the CPU load of your machine when D-Pro is running? (via Task Manager on Windows / Activity Monitor on OS X). This will tell you if CPU load is the issue, and if D-Pro is the culprit.

Can you also confirm the spec of your computer?

Re: Cant connect d-pro to usb...

OK, the good news is that D-Pro works fine with Windows 8.1. I think your issue is that the DMX USB PRO 2.3 firmware is not compatible with D-Pro. Try downgrading to the 1.44 firmware from the PRO Manager utility, and you should find that D-Pro works fine. (I'll chase up this 2.3 firmware issue with...

Re: Showbuddy DMXIS without backing track

It's really not practical to automate a live light show using beat detection. Beat detection is fine for simple sync tasks - getting a lighting effect to run roughly in time with the song, for example. But accurately switching from 'Look A' to 'Look B' when 'Verse 2' starts? This is unlikely to work...
