Any particular reason you're not using the DMXIS plugin in Ableton? That would solve any issues with IAC bandwidth.

Re: Dimmer channel on Chauvet LED Techno Strobe RGB

I almost certainly saw "Dimmer" in the manual and went on autopilot. In my defence, after creating over a hundred fixtures where off=off and on=on, it didn't occur to me that Chauvet had discovered a better way to do dimming :D In DMXIS you can invert any channel, but in D-Pro you can only...

Re: DMXiS and Ableton Live MIDI problem

Are you using OS X or Windows? What is the specification of your computer? What is the actual CPU load on the machine during a fade? (get this from OS X Activity Monitor or Windows Task Manager) Plenty of people use DMXIS with Ableton automation, so what you're doing should work just fine, unless yo...

Gary,

Given that you appear to be having issues of a hardware-related nature, I highly recommend that you email this one to support@enttec.com - this will open an official support ticket, and we can get the Enttec hardware support guys to help you out.

Re: Problem with colours on non led movers in d-Pro

Alpha profile 1200 and Mac 250 and all the other non led movers does not have the Colour selector, So you Cant really operate Them in the programmer. Sure you can - any fixture with a colour wheel will have a "Color" fader in the programmer. Here's a Mac 250 Entour set to colour "Pin...

Re: Problem with colours on non led movers in d-Pro

The fixture definition for the Mac 2000 Profile II was incorrect. I have fixed that now, and if you reimport the fixture definition (via "Get new fixtures..." on the patch window) you will see that the Mac 2000 Profile now has a colour selector in the programmer window, and the Device Brto...

Re: Busking / Cue List / Play new cue Immediately

I'm still not clear why the solution suggested in the beta forum (the "Start Trigger" column) doesn't work for you:
Stepping through a cuelist via spacebar

In the above example, the cuelist will advance to the next cue every time you press the spacebar. Just load it onto a key or slider in the Show Control.

Re: Chauvet CT3EQ control

From the manual, it looks like you can't control the tubes individually via DMX. The CT3EQ controller box appears to give you a greater choice of preset chases, and of course it allows you to switch chases remotely from a DMX controller. But I'm pretty sure that 6 DMX channels is all you get, and th...

From the Show Buddy manual: ...simply busk your show by selecting songs as required in the Track Library and pressing your DMXIS foot switch to start/stop them. Or, go one step more organised and create a show in the Show Library for each gig you are planning... i.e. use of the "Show Library&qu...

Re: Footswitch Start & Stop

Make sure the footswitch works properly in the DMXIS standalone (i.e. single-click loads next preset and double-click loads previous preset) before attempting to use it in Show Buddy. You might need to fine-tune the "Double click time" or choose a different "Switch type". (Some k...

Darren is correct - Peavey amp footswitches are normally latching. You need a momentary switch e.g. a standard keyboard sustain pedal or a Boss FS6.

Re: DMXis routing question

Yes, you've got that just about right. This setup will let you control individual lights from DMXIS by creating banks of static looks, chases & sound-to-light effects, all driven by MIDI from your computer. The drumlite module will let you control up to 8 separate LED strips on your kit, and the...

Re: Demo -vs- Licensed Copy

You'll need to install the full licensed version of D-Pro, but any shows created & saved in the demo can be loaded into the full version.

The D-Pro demo is essentially a full offlline editor - it is identical to the full version, except it does not output DMX data.

Re: Blackout preset at end of song

The only thing really puzzling me is how to go to a 'blackout' preset at the end of a song on 'sound to light' mode when we havent specified when the ending finishes. You can do this easily with an external MIDI controller. At the end of the improvised ending, send a preset change to DMXIS on MIDI ...

Re: High resolution DMX channel / fades?

In DMXIS, you can't control a 16 bit property from a single fader. Instead, you will see two adjacent faders in DMXIS labelled e.g. "Dim" and "Dim Fine". So, you can make manual coarse & fine adjustments by operating the two faders, but you cannot automatically execute a 16 b...

Yes, you can. Page 9 of the user manual tells you how to start/stop playback from a footswitch connected to the DMXIS hardware. (The manual is available via the 'Help' menu in Show Buddy) You can also start/stop playback from any connected MIDI controller, see File > Preferences > General tab > MIDI...

If the fixture library is not in its normal location as described here

then something particulary bad has happened on your computer and you should fully reinstall DMXIS, as other elements such as the Macros folder might also be damaged/missing.

Re: Feature request - RGBA

The Device Browser does reflect the current amber and white levels. If it doesn't, then the fixture definition is wrong. Tip - in the programmer, you should see the amber and white channels inside the RGB colour editor as two additional faders under the RGB faders. Also, it is entirely intentional t...
