Re: Creating files in SB Active and transferring them to ShowBuddy
Show Buddy and Show Buddy Active are two completely different products. SBA is the advanced version of DMXIS. In fact it used to be called DMXIS platinum. I not really sure why it got renamed as show buddy Active. Either way, there really isn't anyway to do what your asking. Show Buddy is designed t...

Re: On/Off delay inconsistencies
Best as I can tell from searching the internet, max DMX refresh rate is 44hz, but many physical devices run at around half that rate.
So your likely to see timing issues with anything faster than 25-30hz (or about 30-35ms)
Theoretical maximum is 0.02272727 seconds (23ms)

Re: On/Off delay inconsistencies
The DMX protocol cannot respond to events that quickly. Its not designed for that kind of instantaneous feedback.
Unless my math is wrong, a 32nd note at 93 beats per minute is (60secs / 93) / 32 = approx 20ms
60 sec / 93 = .64 seconds
.64 seconds / 32 = .02 seconds (or 20ms)

because DMX signals cannot be combined that way. Only one controller can drive the lights. If you want to connect a 2nd controller you would have to have a DMX Merge box that would be connected where you have put your Y connector. do a google search with the following search terms "dmx merger 2...

yes. It has to be activated on each computer it will run on. You can't run it on more than one computer at a time because the DMXIS box has to be connected to the computer running the software. The software will run in demo mode when the box is not attached.

Re: Restart CueList with midi instead of stopping
could you create a null cue list with effectively nothing in it and use that as a buffer between all songs.
You could call the buffer list either at the beginning or end of every song.

The Mac version doesn't have a shortcut for the preferences.
if it did, the equivalent would be CMD-A, but it has not been defined.

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
According to the manual it should work. Is it possible you don't have sync enabled? Sync to incoming MIDI clock : when enabled , DMXIS synchronises the master speed (and thus any oscillators) to any incoming MIDI clock messages. Tap tempo via MIDI CC 110 : when enabled, the master tempo (and the tim...

There has to be something else running on the laptop to receive the MIDI over Ethernet data. How are you getting that information into DMXIS?The current Clock Sync route is:
Squarp Pyramid --[USB]--> BomeBox --[Ethernet]--> Laptop running DMXIS

MIDI Clock
The DMXIS master tempo will automatically synchronise to any incoming MIDI clock signal. Use this to sync DMXIS chases to a compatible application, such as Traktor DJ.

You are unfortunately utilizing undocumented/unsupported functionality that was never a part of the design of the software. The VST plugin was never intended to be used as multiple instances. It was designed to be loaded ONCE on an output/return track I believe. The fact that it has worked is only c...

Re: Do fixture library downloads provide labeling solely?
Yes, for the most part fixture libraries are just labels. They also provide meta data that is used for other DMXIS functions like Macros that need the label info to know what channels do what. Other features that use the meta data for example, from the manual "Double-clicking on any named chann...

Re: No RGB channels found Error - Macros not working
Well, that's good to know. In the past either the fixtures or the shows or presets were null-ended files. Maybe that restriction has gone away. You do have to use a Text Editor, not a word processor. So on the Mac it would be something like Brackets, TextWrangler, TextMate, and on windows I think y...

Re: No RGB channels found Error - Macros not working
I'm not sure what would be easier ... trying to find a dimmerless RGB can and define 4 of them in a row or make up a proper definition for the fixture. You can't actually "edit" an existing fixture, you have to create new one from scratch (I view this as a failing of the fixture service)....

its a little tricky, as you have to set the chase value of the alternate lights to 50% one at a time. So the steps would be 1. Select all the Red/Blue channels for all the lights you want to chase 2. Set the channel values to 127 (50%) 3. Set the oscillator for all the channels 4. Select each even-n...

there is no direct way to do this. You will have to go through your presets and resave them. Its possible to write a macro that could do this for you, but there isn't any way to do this just through the fixture profile. You have extra DMX channels which means the presets are always going to be refer...

Re: Copy and Paste Pre-sets
you'll want to setup your front and back lights with masking so you can turn them on and off independently.
once that is done you can then easily create a single preset with both the front and back lights on, by turning on the the front and back lights and then saving that as a new combined preset.
