Re: Two DMXIS USB units for sale
Thanks Chris, I am going to order two of the 150's. My schedule is a bit hectic this week. I know you are working late on Wednesday, but depending how late, I could come down that evening. I have rehearsal on Thursday and a gig in Charlotte on Saturday. If Wednesday does not work, It would likely h...

Re: Two DMXIS USB units for sale
Chris, On the intimidator Spot LED 150, is it more of a beam or a wash? I am thinking about two for behind the speakers that can through upward toward the front guitars (especially if I lower or turn off the front wash lights we already have). Also, do they come with cases? Thanks. Foster They're b...

Re: Two DMXIS USB units for sale
After looking at the Reverb order I see they didn't charge you for shipping, the extra 12 was tax, so I didn't put any money in the box. I don't have any documentation on the units, but there is a sticker on the bottom with the serial number if that helps. Turns out the shipping label was USPS, so I...

Re: Two DMXIS USB units for sale
Hey, Ozzie - I see that it's been sold, but for some reason it charged for shipping and made it $172 instead of $160. I'll put $12 in the box with the unit when I ship it so the price is what I said it would be. Sorry about that, man. I don't do a lot on Reverb so I must have forgot to check a box s...

Re: Two DMXIS USB units for sale
Here's the link to my Reverb section with everything listed. https://reverb.com/shop/chriss-gear-locker-131 I made the price on the DMXIS $160 with free shipping to keep it simple since it's the only thing listed that's not local pickup. I'm working late Mon - Wed so I won't be able to ship it until...

Re: Two DMXIS USB units for sale
Hey, Ozzie. One is fine. I'm in the process of listing all the gear on Reverb, so I'll send you the link once it's up and you can pay through them. I'm selling all of my lights as well as custom lighting trusses and stage risers, but once you factor in shipping I don't think it would be a good deal ...

How about $150 each plus whatever it costs me to ship them to you from Atlanta?

Two DMXIS USB units for sale
(Dave, I hope it's okay to post this here, if not point me to the right section of the forum.) Hey, guys. I had one unit I was designing a show with and another as a spare, but I could never get the band together so they're just sitting on the shelf. I see that as of last December Enttec is no longe...

DMX visualizer software
Hey, guys. I've been looking for visualizer software, not for design (DPro does that) but purely for playback. What I'm really trying to accomplish is rendering to video for design and communication purposes. Thus far most of what I've found is a) design software that also visualizes or b) insanely ...

Re: Using D Pro in a DAW similar to DMXis
Hi, Chris. While I'm unfamiliar with Ableton, I've been working on a project controlling DPro from Cubase and it works quite nicely. First, you'll need a midi loopback controller. There are several free ones out there. This lets you set up virtual midi ports so that Ableton / DAWs can output midi to...

On behalf of singers everywhere, all i can say is, "oops."
That sounds like a great rig for flexibility. I'm a big fan of Midi for that very reason. Works great in software, compatible with just about every piece of hardware out there.

Re: DMXIS Wish List
After I got my fixtures and groups set up, I then started building a library of cues, e.g. turn the movers yellow and change to the star gobo, etc. I'm flying from memory here, but I believe I was able to set up the cues and then separately assign them to appropriate groups. For instance, at one poi...

Re: DMXIS Wish List
D-Pro plays nice with your existing Entec / Dmxis interface, so no new hardware required. My lighting rig is currently down so I'm working from memory, but fixture groups and the degree and ease of programmability are night and day. My lighting rig has 16 color changers, 14 moving heads, a couple of...

Re: DMXIS Wish List
I second the D-Pro recommendation. It's only a couple hundred bucks but very feature rich and flexible. I started out with Dmxis and found myself confronted by similar limitations. For many people with straightforward needs, Dmxis is a great solution. In my case I needed more and D-Pro turned out to...

Thanks for catching that. I'd redesigned my website and forgot to include the docs. I've changed the url to a direct link to the pdf files, and have included the versions for both DMXIS and D Pro.
Hope this helps!

Re: Interesting Issue working on
You know, after reading his description again, I realize I'd missed the HDMI converter part. If the projector is kicking over to the splash screen, that means it's not getting the HDMI signal. Since there's a chain of things between the video output of the Resolume computer and the projector, that's...

Lighting and audio gear for sale
Hey, guys. I have a bunch of stuff I need to sell that I don't use anymore, and Dave said it was okay to mention it here. For brevity, I'll just list the items and if you're interested I'll get you full details, pictures, pricing, etc. All lighting was part of my test bench when I was designing soft...

Re: Interesting Issue working on
Your setup is the same as mine other than the fact that my Resolume box is a PC rather than Mac. In my setup, I'm running Cubase and triggering Dmxis and / or DPro via a midi track. A second midi track is used to control what displays on Resolume. Of course, in order for that to work, I have to have...

Would it be okay to post some fixtures for sale here?
Dave,
This weekend I'm going to be putting a bunch of fixtures up on eBay and I thought I might link to it here in case any US people were interested.
That said, I haven't seen anyone else mention gear for sale, so I thought I should ask first to make sure it's okay.

Re: D-Pro Scenes in DMXIS
Hi, Justin. I'm working on a band project where everything is automated via Cubase. I, too, started out with Dmxis because it would run as a vst plugin, which is very cool. I have 13 movers and 16 pars, and all are the same make and model. I'm doing a lot of very synchronized stuff and it very quick...

Re: Sync'ing the light show to the band
I don't know if there's a tap to sync feature in the software. I've found that whether it's fixtures, software, audio gear, etc. I've had to design things with the art of the possible in mind. For instance, I had an idea in my head but then found that my movers simply weren't fast enough to execute ...

Re: Sync'ing the light show to the band
Since you have to manage all of that while playing, I'd keep it as simple as possible. Create your presets with the granularity you need, probably "looks" for intro / verse / chorus / bridge / out, etc. and then call them up with your foot pedal. I'm going the opposite route of working to ...

Re: How to programm Pan/Tilt moves
I tried the parameters you described above. But it does not change my main problem. (After stopping the cuelist pan/tilt are at 0) You're not going to be able to avoid this problem if you're using the Cue List. This is an issue I reported while 1.5 was still in beta, but it wasn't fixed for this re...

Re: Pan / Tilt Oscillator
You know, it occurs to me that I never actually tried to make a circle. Now where did I put that old trig textbook... Of course, I've heard that the secret to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss. If you're in a square room, perhaps there's a sequential analogy to that approach, though...
