I can look into that for you. What's the serial number of the unit you got back?

Re: Ableton sending Midi to Dmxis on Pc
Randy,
That's a logical way to think but it's not correct in this case. DMXIS uses audio inputs for clocking behind the scenes whether they're an audible signal or not. Please trust us and give it a try. This sounds like the issue to me as well.

I'm pretty sure that Midi OX can do transposition too, maybe that's a good place to do some bending of the signals to your will.

Re: Fixture not correct when imported into DMXIS
I had a go at it. Lots of things you left as Dimmer, that aren't, in terms of channel range settings. Maybe this will help. At least it will make sense to someone using D-PRO now. But I don't have the fixture so no idea really if I solved it completely or not. Log in, download, try this version.

Re: Fixture not correct when imported into DMXIS
Since you haven't identified the fixture and your user name on that site, it's hard to say for sure, but I have a hunch the problem is related to your not filling some things in. Try giving every channel a name, even if it's a meaningless Gibberish one for now. And make sure your names are in the Sh...

Long cables do not cause time delays that are appreciable without an oscilloscope to measure them... to the naked eye they will not matter. This is electricity, not sound. It can go halfway around the world and back in the blink of an eye, if it doesn't have to cross through too many doors that requ...

You have no worries on the licensing front. I'm not quite sure what you want to do on the playback side of things but it sounds like it is possible.

Lucas,
As described above the DMX512 protocol would be a barrier here, but you might want to look into some way to custom program your own Pulse Width Modulation with maybe an Arduino, or similar device.

Re: feature request MIDI learn saved for each preset
OK, I'm picking up now what you're laying down. What about this? Why not use some kind of MIDI translation device, like BOME or MIDI OX, that remaps what you're sending in various ways and has the ability to dial it in for things to be changing in DMXIS some of the time and not at others? Wouldn't t...

Great to hear!
I suspect a really large fraction, statistically significant, of the Pink Floyd tribute bands use DMXIS nowadays. We got a boost early on from Daniel, one of the early betatesters, and he told quite a few of them about it probably.

Re: Interesting Issue working on
I don't think DMXIS is sending anything out on Ethernet, no. I'm not saying I've scoured the code, and can categorically deny it, but from what I've seen in 6 years of supporting it that's never come up in any way before, and it's not been talked about by the developer at all, so if it's happening i...

Re: Pro manager help
Using Pro Manager to adjust the DMX signal refresh rate on your DMXIS interface is an interesting idea for troubleshooting this issue, and I won't say it's impossible that you'll get good results, but I'm skeptical. The reason it doesn't resonate for me is that the default setting for your DMXIS int...

I got a Microsoft Surface Pro and put D-PRO on it. That's not DMXIS, but it's also Dave's handiwork. I then purchased TouchOSC, much as he described earlier in this thread, and designed a very intricate but powerful layout for it, that lives on an iPad Mini. This Mini is left hanging on the wall beh...

Re: Triggering fixtures using Midi Drums
Mike, There's not a good way to reassign what MIDI notes cause what behaviors in the middle of your set, you'd have to take some quiet time to do that kind of thing between shows, perhaps, but it wouldn't be practical on stage. There are probably a number of DAWs that would assist by being the "...

Re: No manual, help with fixture editor
It's likely that this is their format:
1 Red
2 Green
3 Blue
4 Dimmer
Maybe the dimmer one has some strobing in it, maybe not. Trial and error. Also, it is not really that unusual to see it as 1, and then move the RGB each 1 slot higher.
Good luck!

Hey guys, I wanted to ask something about the issues you've reported here. Re: Problems with presets in Ableton Live
Greg,
Might you have inadvertently mapped some midi notes or CC's to a fader or two, and then forgotten this if it was initially done on purpose?
You can unmap everything at once with a menu choice, if you aren't sure and want to hedge your bets.

Re: Triggering fixtures using Midi Drums
Mike, The way DMXIS works, is that MIDI channels 15 and 16 are reserved for special usage. 15 sends you to various banks, depending on the note you play. 16 sends you to different presets in that bank, again depending on which note. These bank/preset assignments are fixed, and relate to the slot in ...

There's no way to directly convert to that format, no. You'd have to search or make from scratch any lights you want to visualize in Magic Easy.

Luca, If Pro Manager can find the interface, then DPRO should have no problem. As long as you properly close Pro Manager first, that is. Two programs can't talk to the interface at the same time. For reference, Pro Manager uses the D2XX driver, and so does DPRO. I think LX Console used to use VCOM d...
