Hey Dave, any reason or known bugs with the beta so far?
I've just installed 2.17 and will give it a quick run this weekend (kids birthday party, low impact if I have any issues)
Will drop back to 2.16 though if you think the beta is not ready for production use.

Good luck with the hunt!
also, did you reach out to Dave via support channels?
Mostly customers here on the forum (I think), but Dave might be able to answer by email.

Re: Trigger script from midi?
Thanks Rich for the answer.
Wow I had no idea it's been 4 years since I started with dmxis!
After Dave told me I can't do things like sleep in the dmxis python, I decided to move all my logic outside the application, and just trigger the presets via midi.
Cheers

What application are you using the edit the files? Notepad, or something else? You may need to run that application as administrator. For example, you can right click the application in the start menu and choose run as admin Here's an example: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nNVdaJXYCbA Once you have ...

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
It's interesting that you could change the behavior quite a bit using the different setups. in dmxis what midi inputs are shown / selected? If you disable them all, how does the bpm on screen react when you start the oscillator? Is it stable? Also what was the source of your midi clock? Alberton? Dm...

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
The Oscillators use the clock of the sound device for timing, as far as I know. I'll see if I can find where I read that.
You don't have anything device at all for sound, not even the onboard audio?

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
The Oscillator needs the sound card for clock, do you want to try selecting another sound device for output in dmxis? Input can be none/off I agree it's odd this is the only app having issues. I have only recently moved to midi clock myself during this lockdown. I used to just send the bpm value via...

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
Ok, good to know that banks aren't the problem. What you might be able to try next, is remove all midi / network components and just send midi clock directly on the PC I wonder if there's some kind of echo/repeating happening on your setup causing the clock beats to be set detected incorrectly. For ...

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
I currently have 3 Banks in this Show. This is a brand new show in that I've fully reconfigured my rig and created a different set of all brand new of Presets. All banks in this show are set at 120 because I have never actually used Bank Tempo from within the DMXIS VST and 120 seems to be the defau...

Re: Showbuddy to Cubase midi track
Do you mean: ShowBuddy or Showbuddy active? Showbuddy Active is basically DMXIS with a better interface and more output options (video etc.) It should work much the same as DMXIS as a VST, although I haven't personally used it that way. Showbuddy is standalone and I think could replace Cubase for ru...

Re: Chase with moving color?
nice work, and this is just the tip of what you can do. If you look at the offset value for each fixture, you see the first is 0, the second is about .14, third .28 (approx), etc. If you wanted, you could manually swap the values around, so instead of the chase going L-R or R-L, it could be G R R R ...

Re: DMXIS + MIDI Sync - Not Working/Working Inconsistently/Failing to Operate as Expected
How many banks are you using?
Try settings all the banks to 120bpm, then trying again.
I had something similar recently.
Hope this helps,
Cheers

Re: Chase with moving color?
ok, I might have missed some steps - sorry was going from memory. I just made something similar on my setup, but I only had 4 lights plugged in. Can you set the shape to be 0.86 for all red+green fixtures (6/7th - basically you want 6 lights to be on at once and 1 off, out of your 7) and also make s...

did you invert both green and red, or just red?
you only want to invert one or the other.
can you post a screenshot if it's still not working?

Re: Chase with moving color?
Yes, expected, but I didn't want to overload you all at once. The quickest way from here is to repeat what you did for red on green channels, but select channel invert for all the green channels. You might need to put all the green faders to the bottom, which is now the on position once reversed See...

Re: Chase with moving color?
this should be possible. Do you already have all the lights on seperate channels? ie: fixture one on channel 1 (dmx channels 1-8) fixture two on channel 9 (dmx channel 9-16) etc. ? Once that is done, highlight all the green channels (double click) and set them all at full. Do the same for dimmer. yo...

Did you end up figuring this out? I couldn't find the database file on my main machine (Win10), but I did see all the media in c:\programdata\show buddy\media files. I took a backup of this folder to my mac, but the database was missing. To get the database, I had to manually export it from SBS on m...

Re: Chase with moving color?
I would guess that yes, your can do this. Can you explain in more details? How many lights do you have, what type they are, brand/model. What does chase mean exactly - how many are on, do they flash on/off, any colour changes? Do the outside lights also include blue, or are they just red? Any variat...

Playing live do you need stereo audio?
I have click on the left and tracks on the right. The on the mixer, only the right channel goes to FoH
Mono audio is generally fine for this purpose.

Not sure why you're against win10, I use it all the time without issues. Much better then learning Linux from scratch to run your live shows. Also, Win7 still works, it just doesn't get updates. Disconnect it from the internet and you'll be fine - just never connect it again... Ever! Of course, that...

SBS bug - count in beats out by 1
I've Finally for some downtime and getting into selling up show buddy setlist for 2020 shows. I've been making notes/memos in SBS and having them count in, usually 8 beats. I've noticed whatever I set in the create screen as the count value, is one lower than the edit screen Ie, I'll select 8 beats,...

WISH: Onscreen play/stop buttons on showscreen
Hey Dave,
Hopefully in a future release you can add a play button to the Show Library page.
I'm trying to set this up on a touchscreen windows tablet and not sure how to play the song without having a spacebar.
Equally, single click to load a track would be great too.
thanks!

Re: Is anyone running Show Buddy on a mac mini or other mini computer?
I don't know the venues you play, but I wouldn't trust a computer at my feet/pedal board. If you did manage to somehow keep it clean and hidden, you may need to consider airflow and cooling. You'd also have the dmxis module and cables at your feet? By the mixer seems a much safer/cleaner place. Your...
