DMXIS is a software/hardware bundle and the software will not work without the DMXIS hardware.
If you want to replace your DMXIS hardware you will have to switch to different software as well.
Show Buddy Active would be the closest to a seamless transition from DMXIS

Re: How to leave unmapped faders?
I have a 4 head fixture set for a 56 channel set of lights, downloaded from the DMXIS fixture site - thanks mmxd. It works fine but because the DMXIS controller has 16 channels per row and the fixture has only 14 channels per head, the faders are very awkward to locate and use. Can someone tell me ...

Re: Am I imagining it? lights brighter in SB Active than DMXIS?
What lights are you talking about? Are you referring to your actual lighting fixtures? If so, you're imagining it, as DMX is DMX is DMX. Nothing that happens at the end of the chain will have any effect on the brightness of your lights. A DMX signal of 255 is going to produce the same result regardl...

Re: How to automate Oscillator speed / Shape in ableton ?
I can't give you specific instructions, because I only use DMXIS as a stand-alone program, not controlled by another application, but I'm pretty sure you should be able to adjust the oscillator settings individually for each light (Dave would have to chime in here to definitively say one way or the ...

Re: How to automate Oscillator speed / Shape in ableton ?
There are two ways to manage lighting control through Ableton. 1. Automate Saved programs it DMXSIS 2. Automate individual lights directly. Option one is generally the preferred method, as it is the least resource intensive, and makes it possible to adapt the lighting setup without reprograming cues...

Re: Beginner Question
Each light has to be assigned to its own DMX range.
for example: If the DMX profile for the light takes up 10 channels, the the first light would start at DMX address 1, the 2nd fixture would start at DMX address 11, the 3rd dmx address 21, etc. etc.

awesome. thanks! One last question, what if my Lixida moving heads lights are not under the device list on DMXIS? Hello, I'm moving away from DasLight 4 as the software is not user-friendly and I'm wasting too much time trying to learn it. My previous band used to use DMXis but my bass player handled all the lightings. here are some questions: - Can I use my Daslight 4 DVC Fun Controller with DMXIS? https://ww...

Re: Weird DMXIS behaviour after adding 4 new fixtures
actually my educated guess is you have reached the limit of automation entries in cubase that can be sent to DMXIS. Adding the additional lights into the cue pushed you over the limit. Its not a CPU problem but a limit on the amount of direct data that can pushed at one time. Moth MIDI and DMX are f...

there was a bug in the earlier releases of DMXIS that was fixed to address an issue that sounds like this problem.

Re: Setting fixtures to the same starting address.
1. You can't configure different lights to the same DMX address. Its also generally a bad idea even if they use similar DMX profiles (i.e., RGB) as the lights will not generate the same output from the same DMX input values. 2. If you want to be able to do chases with a block of the same type of lig...

Re: Basic chases can’t be done.
You didn't mention which specific lights you are using. Is there a 4 or 5ch DMX mode with a master dimmer?
It would be easier to do what you wan't if that is supported.
Either way, you can chase multiple faders in groups, you just have to get the oscillator settings correct for each RGB group.

Re: DMXis halting in Cakewalk by BandLab
This seems like a Cakewalk issue. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with Cakewalk.
Perhaps there is a Cakewalk forum that you might check, unless somebody else here has something to add to the discussion.
Wish I could give you more help.

Re: DMXis halting in Cakewalk by BandLab
That looks like it should work (I'm not a Cakewalk user, so this is my best educated guess) Are you saying Cakewalk is slowing down or Calkwalk plays, but DMXIS stops responding? What kind of timing are you trying to achieve. There are limits to how fast DMX lights will respond (meaning you can send...

Re: DMXis halting in Cakewalk by BandLab
When you say you have 10 DMXIS tracks do you mean your using 10 instances of the plugin?
Of so, DMXIS is not designed to work that way. It should be configured as a single (1) DMXIS instance programed on a single track.

just set them to different DMX starting addresses. (offset by how ever many channels your need to control each fixture independently).

Re: Korg nanoKONTROL Studio
The nanoKONTROL Studio isn't really the right kind of controller, you should be looking at something like the Korg nanoPAD2. The nanoPAD2 would give you 4 banks of 16, for direct control of 64 DMXIS programs. You can also do hybrid configurations, where say 4 of the pads are used to select banks in ...

Re: Library for lighting kit
The underlying architecture of the way DMX works and in particular DMXIS works is there are 512 faders that control the DMX value of each of the 512 channels. For our purposes here, they operate on a strictly 1-to-1 basis. Channel 1 fader controls DMX channel 1, Channel 2 fader controls DMX channel ...

Re: Library for lighting kit
looking at the manual, the lights support three DMX personalities. 3 channel - which is not RGB, but rather a bunch of automated lighting modes 4 channel - which is RGB, but with an odd master fader that dims but also affects strobe and the audio mode 20 channel - which gives you RGB, Fader and stro...

Re: Library for lighting kit
You'll need the DMX configuration information for the light. It should be in the user manual. Without that info you won't really be able to do much since you will just be guessing at what channels do what. Some lights have a very simple DMX channel assignment and some are very complex along with hav...

I don't mean to be mean, but if you can't navigate a basic store website, you are not going to be able to operate Logic Pro or DMXIS.
I can't hand hold you beyond this point. Seriously... click on the store links at the top of the page. Make an effort.

Re: Smallest apple device for dmxis
all macs will run logic pro as long as they are new enough to run the current version of the OS. Just like all computers, the specific model configuration (CPU model/speed, memory config, etc) will determine how complex a logic pro project you can work on before it bogs down.

Re: DMXIS lighting interface with logic pro x
I'd start with the standalone DMXIS software, not the plugin (you can only run one or the other). Set your light to start at D001 (which you say you've already done). Load a fixture template that matches your lighting fixture (this will add labels to the individual DMX channels (for example Master D...

You can drive lighting and scene changes in DMXIS from Logic Pro, but you can't control the physical DXMIS interface directly without DMXIS software in-between.
