Re: Footswitch Questions

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe the battery is only to provide power to the LED and doesn't have anything to do with the actual switch functions.

Re: Using Part of a Channel

Wasn't there a larger DMX option like 11 or 13 channels. That might give you access to the Dimmer channel by itself, although at the expense of eating up DMX channels. It always amazes me some of the design choices manufacturers make, clearly a dimmer channel shouldn't have anything else attached to...

Re: Using Part of a Channel

Ok, I spent some time playing with this and unless Dave chimes in with different information, it doesn't seem possible to constrain a channel to a max DMX value or specific range of DMX values. (so your not crazy) There isn't a mechanism in the fixture definition file to scale or define a limited ra...

There is a way in the fixture editor to specify a max range. I haven't done this myself, but Dave definitely discussed this in another post.

Not sure its possible but imagine Dave will chime in here at some point.

The challenge your facing is the ADJ UniPak II is not a Light its a single channel DMX dimmer/switch pack. You could have anything plugged into it.

Re: Is it possible to connect two computers?

take a look at the task manager while you run your shows as see what your cpu load is. My guess is you won't see a significant load on the system, but it should give you a baseline to work from. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-identify-and-terminate-high-resource-processes-using-task-manager-wind...

Re: Is it possible to connect two computers?

If your system is glitching and crashing then your just as likely to have the same issue with two computers made even more complex by now having to deal with the added complexity of the network. You really need to figure out why your current system is behaving badly and fix that. There may very well...

Re: Automation with vst CPU load issue

Not to sound snarky, but your having an issue with Ableton and asking how to fix that issue in a forum for a completely different product. Yes, DMXIS can be controlled/automated from an external source, but the recommended option is to use the banks/presets which you've chosen not to do. If you real...

thanks,
Yes, Show Buddy Active would be used instead of the DMXIS software.

Re: DMXIS to control a lighting console with midi controller

The midi controller turns out to be an opt 1216 monster dmx. There’s no “midi in” so I doubt I can control it that way like I thought. Luckily on further inspection, it’s all the same leds which would make using a DMXIS box work easily from the cable coming out of the light console. The OPT1216 doe...

Re: DMXis with midi controller and NO computer

you can use a stand alone controller. I do exactly that with a Korg NanoPad2 and a 15ft usb cable. You cannot connect a MIDI controller directly to the DMXIS box, which is what I believe the OP is asking. You always need a computer to communicate with the DMXIS box. Ah yes, I see your right. So No,...
