Re: Fade To Next error

Take a look at the Preset file. It will be in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\ENTTEC\DMXIS\Presets\<Preset Name>.prt There's a line in that file that should look like this: <Param nm="Crossfade" v="0" cc="-1" nrpn="-1" ch="0"/> The 'v' parameter is the Fade timer. 'cc' is the midi learned CC value. See i...

Seeing as how 2020 is going, I'd rather not have a release this year.

Re: Newbie to DMXIS

Welcome to DMXIS! I play in a couple cover bands. We go by a set lists, however we do stray from it all the time. For this reason I do not have things set up on a per-song basis. At the simplest level, we have different 'looks' set up for verse/chorus/bridge/solo. There are 7 or 8 of these preset gr...

Many thanks to you.
You're welcome. Glad you got it working. :)

Not really sure why an audio input needs to be specified for Midi and Oscillators to work. Perhaps there should be a note in the Preferences window that states "Setting Input to << none >> will disable oscillators and midi".

Re: DMXIS Help (Midi 15/16)

Check File|Preferences|Audio/MIDI Settings|Input

It should be set to Microphone or something like that.

If it is set to << none >> then midi doesn't work... nor do any of the oscillators.

Re: DMXIS Help (Midi 15/16)

When you use something like MidiOx, does it show midi messages are being sent to that device? Program Change and Bank Select LSB messages are also recognized by DMXIS in omni (any channel, not just 15 or 16) mode. Try sending msg 0xC0 0x01 to select the second Preset in the current Bank. Then send m...

Today I've been checking the demo of SBA, and you're right, it has some of the basic things that are not implemented on DMXIS. The way it handles midi learn, is fantastic... and the fact that the VSTs can output Art-net is outstanding; this feature implemented on DMXIS VSTs would be amazing, define...

DMXIS 1.6.3 -> 1.7.0 File Changes / Compatibility

When updating DMXIS from version 1.6.3 to 1.7.0, are there any compatibility issues if I need to roll back to 1.6.3? Any changes to xml, prt, fixture, or macro files that aren't backwards compatible? I backed up my 1.6.3 files just in case.

Take a look at the DmxConfig.xml file. It lists all the fixtures and their starting point (from) and ending point (to) in a relatively simple format. Subtract 1 to get the DMX address.

Thank you. I don't have dedicated blinders. I was trying to reproduce them with pars, quickly dropping the faders instead of just cutting the signal. Ah... then my method of a Blinders preset won't work. If you're using a foot switch, DMXIS has a "Last preset while held" function. This will jump to...

Re: Flash/blinder without loop?

You could use multiple presets. One preset would be a dedicated "Blinder" preset. For that preset, enable and turn on any channel associated with the blinders. All other channels in the Blinder preset would be disabled. For all your other presets, turn the blinders off.

Glad you got it working! That does present an issue with the way you have the Dimmer masked. You have to somehow set the Dimmer back to 'normal'. Maybe you could have a Preset called 'Reset' that puts the Dimmer back to a non-pulsing mode... and then send two TouchOsc commands in a row. The first wo...

Art-Net with DMXIS?... Does this mean the DMXIS hardware box will no longer be needed once 1.7.0 is released?

Re: Controlling DMXis with MIDI (Please help)

If I understand correctly, it sounds like you're having difficulty keeping things sync'd up while making fast changes? If that's the case, then it's not so much a DMXIS problem, but rather a DMX protocol issue. DMX is subject to data transfer rates and sometimes it just can't keep up with what we'd ...

The feature I´m after would be useful specifically for programming, to save time when merging scenes together to create new ones.
If that's the case, then a macro will work. I'm pretty busy right now, but should be able to program a macro for you in the near future.
