Re: Migrating from one laptop to another....
Thanks Dave, I've had to install v.1.3.0 of Show Buddy (Build 514) and DMXIS V.1.30 also. (may have the dots in the wrong places there, but they're both v.1.30) Ive used the same version of both, since 2013! nothing has ever gone wrong, not one single crash, nothing, nada. I am not a fan of win10, b...

Migrating from one laptop to another....
Hi everyone, I've been trying to get some help on this. After using Showbuddy v1.3 on my main gig laptop since 2012, I have another laptop which runs win10. I've been doing a lot of live streaming, and decided to migrate my Media Files across along with the database. As I bought two DMXIS/Showbuddy ...

Ok, So I've just started added in midi chunk data to control my amp channels, and also out to my other PC running OBS using BOME Midi Translator, to send HotKeys to OBS to change scenes automatically whilst live streaming.. The issue I'm having is that where I have the lyrics setup to display, when ...

Re: Show Buddy w/ OBS for Layers & Camera Switching
I've been using OBS for about a year now with Reaper using ReaStream to connect up the ASIO out of Reaper. Recently, I've been adding more logitech webcam C920's to create more cams, it seems there are a few options. BOME's MIDI Translator Classic enables you to send MIDI data out from your DAW to O...

It's been a while... how is everybody?
Hi everyone, Steve Forward here. I'm the guy DB used back in 2012 or so to showcase something called ShowBuddy back then. I'm stilll here, and still using it, even under lockdown, I produce shows, and live stream to a subscribtion audience. All of the backing tracks and lighting are still done using...

Re: One Floyd - Solo Pink Floyd Tribute Show
D-Pro sounds nice, but I am bound by Showbuddy. so DMXIS and Showbuddy remain. I did "toy" with the idea of having separate mono mixes of my backing tracks, all lined up, with a separate video track for the projection, and doing it that way, even using the DMXIS plugin on a midi track ( wh...

Re: One Floyd - Solo Pink Floyd Tribute Show
I define stable, as in 3 years, 260 gigs, no crashes, no drop outs, no stops. this performance record is actually better than using Windows Media Player and controlling NO lights. the thing is, the program is so simple and lightweight, thats what does it for me with DMXIS/Showbuddy. it just needs a ...

Re: One Floyd - Solo Pink Floyd Tribute Show
Thats great Dave, so you can copy a lightshow programmed in for say MIX 1, and import a new track say, called MIX 2 that has no bass on it, and then just paste the lightshow onto it? My only concern is its a beta release, but I am wondering if I could copy the lightshows to different mixes using the...

Re: One Floyd - Solo Pink Floyd Tribute Show
Thanks Chris, I still use DMXIS, Showbuddy sits on top of it, as you know.. For the show, I tempo mapped the whole of dark side of the moon, and recreated the entire album - which you can listen to online ( sample clips ) - www.onefloyd.com I used a great sax player and session vocalist for the trac...

one floyd promo pic small.jpg Hi Guys, It's been too long, just thought I'd post up and say that Showbuddy and DMXIS have been performing flawlessly as usual, and on my latest tribute show to Pink Floyd, all the lighting and lovely 6ft projection screen is raring to go... It's a testament to Dave B...

Dave I have a feeling you may only be loading in a few tracks.. It happens when you load in tons of them.. Ill make a video of what happens.. If there is tons of them all bunched up, you go to move one up or down and the mouse doesn't grab it.. When you go to click it again, it moves a conpletrly ra...

showbuddy failing to remember showbuddy setlists
why is it, everytime i try and put together a setlist in showbuddy, i save it by backing up the database, and click back on it, and its back where i left it ? i love the program and DMXIS, that is well documented, but in the show library section, its like it has a mind all of its own lol.. i spend a...

Re: Weird behavior in Showbuddy
I suffer from similar, "too small" lighting cues, im on a PC. these are just smalll niggles for me, im prepared to work round them, but I do think that it would be good to get Dave to VNC or see the problems were having and modify the program so it can breathe a little better on heavy ligh...

Re: Weird behavior in Showbuddy
Frank, ive found showbuddy to run ok, but when it crashes or dmx does, it just hangs there. lol.. i had all this when i started, the program is very new, im sure Dave will iron out the kinks as the new updates become available, as and when. I do notice that if im using a few lighting cues, the whole...

Re: Weird behavior in Showbuddy
I use a PC/windows, it has only done it once today though. also, ive noticed in showbuddy the program slows down when adjusting lighting fixtures the more complicated the lightshow... like it struggles.. im pretty sure all of these problems could be graphic card driver / refresh related ?

always best to use ASIO ( Audio Stream In Out ) wherever possible. that being said I just use the stock built in sound card and it works fine. addendum -
make feature request..
option : "make all presets masked by default" - this saves hours of sifting through previous presets having to disable selected channels and overwriting presets..

Re: Momentary Presets..
The "Off" isn't doing anything at all then ? That feature must be solely to do with the dimmer function then. [No, see my answer below - Dave] If that's the case, then how is it becoming a momentary preset? Momentary presets have an on and an off. So what your saying is DMXIS recognises th...

Re: Momentary Presets..
I suppose, you could create a momentary bank called "blackout fade out" or something, and create a blackout light whereby the RGB's are full down. then place this after your colour presets, but fade it, so the blackout fades IN, taking the colour with it.. hope that makes sense
